WARDROBE & STYLING
Choose 3-6 outfits that make you feel fabulous!
Casual Fun: For a relaxed yet polished look, opt for a well-fitted pair of jeans or tailored trousers paired with a simple blouse or a cozy sweater. Keep accessories minimal—think delicate jewelry and a classic watch. This look is perfect for capturing your laid-back, everyday vibe while still looking effortlessly put-together.
Edgy Bold: If you’re aiming for an outfit with attitude, go for something that pushes boundaries a bit. Consider leather or faux leather jackets, distressed jeans, or a statement graphic tee. Pair it with bold ankle boots, combat boots, or shoe-less. Accessories like chunky jewelry, a studded belt, or a cool hat can add to the edgy vibe.
Epic: For an outfit that wows, think bold and glamorous. A floor-length gown or a dramatic, flowing dress in rich fabrics like silk or velvet can create an epic look. Pair the dress with elegant heels and statement jewelry like chandelier earrings or a statement necklace. This look is perfect for creating a sense of drama and luxury in your photos.
Fit: Ensure your outfits fit well and make you feel comfortable. Avoid anything too tight or too loose, as this can affect how you feel and how the outfit looks on camera.
Break the Rules: Prints and texture, pops of color, funky shoes - it’s ok to break the rules, just know your audience.
Test Drive: Try on your outfits to see how they fit and feel, especially as you move. If something doesn’t feel right, you’ll have time to make adjustments before your photoshoot.
SELF-CARE TIPS
Pamper Yourself
Skin: A few days before the shoot, exfoliate and moisturize your skin to give it a healthy glow. Avoid trying new skincare products right before the session to prevent any unexpected reactions.
Hair and Makeup: Consider going with your everyday look so you feel like yourself, and practice beforehand to achieve the look you want. I can always add a little more makeup in post-production if requested, but I can't take a too made-up look away.
Nails: Neat, well-groomed nails are essential. Whether you go for a natural look or a bold color, make sure they’re camera-ready.
Nutrition: Try to steer clear of alcohol and sugar in the days leading up to your photoshoot to minimize inflammation. Instead, load up on fresh veggies for that healthy glow.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot. Hydrated skin looks healthier and more vibrant.
Rest: A good night’s sleep before your session is crucial. Rested eyes and a fresh complexion will make you feel and look your best.
MINDSET
Embrace the Experience
Nerves are Normal: It's completely normal to feel a bit nervous before a photoshoot—most of us do! Remember, this is a new experience, and those nerves are just a sign that you care about the outcome. Know that I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way, giving you all the space you need to work through your nervous energy.
Positive Affirmations: Before your session, spend a few moments focusing on positive affirmations. Remind yourself of your beauty, strength, and confidence.
Relaxation Techniques: Practice deep breathing or meditation to calm any pre-shoot nerves. The more relaxed you are, the more natural and beautiful your photos will be.
Trust the Process: Remember, I’m here to guide you and help you feel comfortable. Trust the experience, and don’t be afraid to express any ideas or concerns you have.
Celebrate Yourself: This session is about celebrating you. Embrace and celebrate your uniqueness and your journey. Try to let go of any insecurities, have fun, and enjoy the moment.
Embrace the Feels: A photoshoot can be an emotional experience, as it often touches on deep feelings of vulnerability, self-confidence, and personal identity. For many, it’s a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. It’s natural for a range of emotions to surface—from excitement and joy to nervousness and introspection. Embrace these emotions as part of the experience; they’re what make your session uniquely yours.
